Academy of Rum is a fun interactive class that allows our guests to learn the skills needed to conceive and create their own bespoke flavoured rum.
Our approach is rooted in traditional Caribbean rum making with a twist of modern innovation to teach our guests how to create truly exceptional and unique rum.
Based in the impossibly picturesque Galleon Beach Resort of Antigua’s Freeman’s Bay, our classes provide the island’s best views to accompany creating your booze.
RUM MAKING MASTERCLASS INCLUDES:
Once you’ve created your rum, we’ll take you through the bottling and labelling process to ensure it looks as distinctive as the rum you’ve created. Personalised labels and a wax sealed bottle ensure you can take your rum home safely and proudly share your one-of-a-kind creation.
RECIPE CREATION
We’ll take you through a selection of rum flavouring samples (some traditional, others absolutely not) to help you create your own rum blend as unique as your imagination.
DISTILLING YOUR RUM
RUM TASTING
The characteristics of rum are varied and unique. We’ll teach you the art of tasting and blending your rum during the distillation process to create a perfect bottle for you.
BOTTLING YOUR RUM
Each guest works with their own pot still to create a bottle of rum truly unique to them, distilled in the traditional West Indian way. By the end of the class you’ll take away a 750ml bottle of your own exceptional bespoke rum.

We make a variety of small batch rums right here at the distillery by the sea. Bottles are available for sale from Loose Cannon Beach Bar, Cork and Basket and directly from us at the distillery.
